Budding and Pruning 2022
Fruit Tree Budding & Summer Pruning Workshop
Interested to learn about fruit tree budding?
Have fruit trees that need pruning?
Come to a Budding & Summer Pruning Workshop by Chris Evans. You will learn about budding and summer pruning, and take home 2 trees you’ve budded yourself.
You will learn how to summer prune and bud fruit trees. You will also take home from the day 2 trees you have budded your self.
If you have a favorite fruit tree in your garden you want to propagate, you can bring along a branch (scion) with live buds on for budding – contact Chris for details. Chris is also looking for scion of named varieties for budding in his fruit nursery so if you need a tree pruning he is happy to exchange this work for some of the branches !
This course is suitable for anyone who wants to learn about the budding and summer pruning of fruit trees. The land at Applewood is steeply sloping in places so you will need to be able to safely walk about the land.
You will need to bring:
A Packed Lunch - hot drinks will be available. A Memory Stick for course materials to be transferred on to. Any branches (scion) with buds from your favorite tree you want to propagate.
