Event Description
This is a wonderful chance to gather in community before the end of the summer and celebrate our learning harvests of the year. We will have a chance to reflect on our individual journeys with Cultural Emergence as well as the collective movement that is growing.
You will have a wonderful opportunity for visioning and designing for our individual and collective next steps, guided by skilled and experienced facilitators.
It will be a valuable time to connect and share stories with others who are also part of this growing global movement of change. And how to be involved to help it grow even more.
There will be a chance to hear about Looby's new projects and designs, including her new book.
Indoor accommodation is available.
This gathering is to connect people who have been reading and learning Cultural Emergence, or want to discover more and embark on their Cultural Emergence journey and meet others.

What you will take away
We intend for you to come away with deep friendships, sense of purpose, embodied peace.
There will be plenty of time to connect with yourself, each other and the more than human world of Applewood. We will spend time in the opensided marquee in the orchard surrounded by ravens, buzzards and birdsong. With evenings around the fire, sharing songs and stories and listening to Owl conversations. Deep nature connection is a magical thread embedded into the whole weekend.

We will be playing with the CEED deck and discovering ways in which you will be able to use it in your own life and with other people. So that you leave empowered to share Cultural Emergence with others.

Dates
15 - 17 August 2025
Arrive on Friday afternoon from 3pm for dinner and a social evening, hopefully outside under the stars by the fire.
Saturday will have sessions from 9am -6pm followed by dinner and evening social.
Sunday will be from 9am and will end at 4.30 pm.
Fees
- Concession £145
- Low waged £195
- Waged £225
Making Payments
There are 3 payment scales
- Concession: means-tested benefits, students limited to 4 places per course
- Low waged: under £15K per year
- Waged: over £15K per year
We offer this sliding scale on an honesty basis to try and make courses more available for low-income groups. We trust that you will pay what is right for you. Payment by installments are also accepted - please let us know your needs. Secure your place with a £40 deposit.
Bring a friend discount
Bring a friend along and you get a discount of 10%.
Food & Accommodation
Indoor bed spaces available or camping.
We have extra tents and bedding available for people to borrow if needed - please let us know your needs.
We will provide healthy, tasty and nourishing meals will be provided for Friday and Saturday dinners and a self-service breakfast in the morning.
Saturday and Sunday lunches will be a bring and share emergent feast.

Facilitators & Venue
Looby Macnamara is co-developer of the Cultural Emergence toolkit with Jon Young. She is an experienced permaculture teacher, author and designer. She is author of 4 books, Cultural Emergence, People and Permaculture and 7 Ways to Think Differently.
People and Permaculture is the first book to directly translate the principles and design methods of permaculture from land to people. Looby enjoys using creative teaching methods to create a fun and collaborative learning environment.
Applewood Permaculture Centre is a stunning 20 acre smallholding, in Herefordshire, UK. Looby and Chris are lucky to have had this as their family home as well as a training centre since July 2016. Applewood is a tranquil sanctuary for wildlife and people alike. We are blessed with night times filled with owl hoots and immense starry skies that you’ll get to enjoy round an outside fire. There are various teaching spaces, from yurt and indoor converted barn to a outdoor marquee in the orchard and all the amazing outdoor spaces we have. There are many diverse habitats here, woodland, orchard, forest gardens, pasture, pool and kitchen gardens.
