Course Description
The Cultural Emergence Leadership Training (CELT) is designed for those who want to step more fully into their leadership. This will mean different things for each of us. It is for those who want to take the Cultural Emergence toolkit into their communities. It is also for those who are already in leadership roles and who want to bring Cultural Emergence into their existing work.
With the CELT you will build confidence, dispel limiting beliefs and become fluent in the Cultural Emergence tools. With the support of this learning community and Looby and Leona’s mentorship you will flourish in connection.
What you will learn
This course is about discovering yourself as a leader. What are the unique gifts that you can bring to the world? How can you mentor others and support them to shine?
This training will give you the confidence and skills to offer Cultural Emergence consultancy and courses.
You will learn facilitation, design, coaching and mentoring skills.
CELT will support you to design the path of visionary leadership that you want to take in the world.

Arrivals on Monday 8th Sept 2025 we start with an opening circle at 4pm. Departures will be on Sunday 14th Sept after a closing circle in the morning.
Online we will have monthly group calls. There will also be regular self-organised peer to peer calls.

12 month or 6 month payment plans are available.
Completing all 3 modules of Cultural Emergence (ACE, CEED and PEACE onine or in person) is a pre requisite for this training, so that you have a solid foundation in the toolkit before you start.
Making Payments
There are 3 payment scales
- Concession: means-tested benefits, students limited to 4 places per course
- Low waged: under £15K per year
- Waged: over £15K per year
We offer this sliding scale on an honesty basis to try and make courses more available for low-income groups. We trust that you will pay what is right for you. Payment by installments are also accepted - please let us know your needs. Once your application has been accepted we will ask for a £135 deposit.
Food & Accomodation
Camping is included in the fee; there are limited spaces in dormitory accommodation if you’re not able to camp - please let us know your needs.
Fees also include tasty vegetarian meals.

Facilitators & Venue
Looby Macnamara is co-developer of the Cultural Emergence toolkit with Jon Young. She is an experienced permaculture teacher, author and designer. She is author of 4 books, Cultural Emergence, People and Permaculture and 7 Ways to Think Differently.
People and Permaculture is the first book to directly translate the principles and design methods of permaculture from land to people. Looby enjoys using creative teaching methods to create a fun and collaborative learning environment.
Leona Johnson is a practicing Eco-therapist, host of Connection Matters Podcast and Director of Live Wild CIC a community based nature connection and village building organisation based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.
Connection Matters Podcast explores evolutionary lifestyles, mindset, culture, healing and spirituality as well as many other issues relating to personal growth, community and nature connection.
Applewood Permaculture Centre is a 20 acre smallholding, in Herefordshire, UK. Looby and Chris are lucky to have had this as their family home with their 2 daughters as well as a training centre since July 2016. There are various teaching spaces, from heated yurt and barn space to outdoor marquee and open air. There are many diverse habitats here, woodland, orchard, forest gardens, pasture, pool and kitchen gardens. Applewood is a tranquil sanctuary for wildlife and people alike. We are blessed with night times filled with owl hoots and immense starry skies that you’ll get to enjoy round an outside fire.
