Course Description
Join Looby Macnamara and Leona Johnson for this nurturing experience to discover tools for positive cultural evolution.
This is an exciting opportunity to connect, relax, have fun and learn from with the author of Cultural Emergence on her land. She is joined by the amazing Leona Johnson who is bringing her deep embodied nature connection journey along with many songs. Come and enjoy fires under starry skies, deep and meaningful conversations, connection time with the more than human world and songs and laughter together.
This module of the Cultural Emergence toolkit gives us the opportunity to deeply connect with ourselves, each other and the more than human world. It is an experiential journey to finding peace and empowerment within ourselves. We can carry these tools forward to emerge a peaceful culture in our own lives.
* To grow a peaceful culture within the group so that we can carry this into our lives and communities
* To learn, experience and embody the Nourish and Empower phase, practices and principles of Cultural Emergence
* To Nourish and Empower ourselves as changemakers, and enable deep connection to ourselves, each other and the land to bring us into a state of fertile Cultural Emergence.
This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with like minded people and create a collaborative learning community. Participants will get a chance to connect with Looby, Regina and Leona, share wisdom and stories with them. The use of the toolkit will be embedded into the course itself to create a culture of connection, care and empowerment, that invites us all to shine our gifts and invites emergent wisdom to flow through the group.
Through interactive, lively and participatory processes we will become familiar with the practices of Cultural Emergence. We will be immersed in the natural world, and continually deepening our connection . We will be connecting with a bigger vision for humanity and how we can play our part in bringing this vision into reality.
.
During the week we will be crafting with natural materials around us. Using our hands to create and craft will help us to connect to the land and ourselves in an embodied way. Using our hands in this way is an ancient customs of humanity that has been lost in modern times. You will get a chance to make nettle cordage, simple weaving, nature mandalas and whittling.
Any time we go outdoors we are closely watched by the more than human world. During this week we will activate our senses in multiple ways to join this communication web in a state of peaceful curiosity. You will learn how to move without disturbance, listen far out into the land, feel the ground, read animal tracks and connect with the abundant more than human life at Applewood. Throughout our days we will follow natural cycles and explore the 8 shields map to feel into the specific energies of each part of the day. Together we will expand our awareness and embody the feeling of being fully alive.
In order to be able to fully experience the wonder and joy of life, as part of healthy communities, we need to be able to acknowledge and release the feelings of fear, anger, sadness and helplessness that build up each day whilst living in these challenging and uncertain times. As part of the retreat, space will be given to hold and honour these struggles in a healthy, contained way in order to support the healing the we all need to live our fullest potential and feel most alive.
The intention is to come away nourished and empowered to live the life we want to live and make a positive contribution to humanity. This is an opportunity to come to a beautiful place, meet amazing people and gift yourself with some quality time and connection.
It is a wonderful chance to connect, collaborate and spend quality time with Looby, Regina and Leona.
