This is an exciting opportunity to connect, relax, have fun and learn with the pioneering Looby Macnamara - author of Cultural Emergence on her land. She is joined by the amazing Leona Johnson who is bringing her deep embodied nature connection journey along with many songs. Come and enjoy fires under starry skies, deep and meaningful conversations, connection time with the more than human world and songs and laughter together. Find connection and purpose in your life with a fire quest.
The fire quest is an amazing opportunity to be with fire overnight by yourself. Time to watch the fire in sacred ceremony for metaphors for your own life.
We often wonder whether the PEACE Deep Dive experience is best described as a course, retreat, holiday, quest, gathering, summer camp - it can feel like all of these rolled into one delicious experience.

Recording of the FREE Peace Empowerment and Cultural Emergence Workshop
In this workshop Looby and Leona explore the peaceful connections which are created and nurtured by the Cultural Emergence toolkit. They used the the CEED Deck - Cultural Emergence Empowerment & Design Deck, to inspire discussions around our virtual campfire. It was great to come together as a global community, feel connected, feel hope and be resourced with the Cultural Emergence tools.
What you will learn
Drawing on the experiential feel of the Art of Mentoring gatherings we will creating a village full of creativity, connection, stories and play that is embedded within the 8 Shields and Cultural Emergence toolkit. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with like minded people and create a collaborative learning community. Participants will get a chance to connect with Looby and Leona, share wisdom and stories with them. The use of the toolkit will be embedded into the course itself to create a culture of connection, care and empowerment, that invites us all to shine our gifts and invites emergent wisdom to flow through the group. We will be immersed in the natural world, and continually deepening our connection .

The PEACE course not only give me a better understanding of Cultural Emergence and 8 Shields but also about myself. Arrivals on The Tuesday start with an opening circle at 4pm. Departures will be on the Sunday after a closing circle in the morning.

- Concession: £650
- Low wages: £750

Payment can be made in installments. An initial deposit of £125 is asked for on booking.

Making Payments
There are 3 payment scales
- Concession: means-tested benefits, students limited to 4 places per course
- Low waged: under £15K per year
- Waged: over £15K per year
We offer this sliding scale on an honesty basis to try and make courses more available for low-income groups. We trust that you will pay what is right for you. Payment by installments are also accepted - please let us know your needs. Secure your place with a £125 deposit.
Food & Accommodation
All food and accommodation is included in the fee. Most people choose to camp and we have some spare tents available to borrow if traveling from afar. We also have a shared indoor dormitory - please let us know your needs.
We will be fully catered for with amazing tasty vegetarian and vegan meals.

Facilitators & Venue
Looby Macnamara is co-developer of the Cultural Emergence toolkit with Jon Young. She is an experienced permaculture teacher, author and designer. She is author of 4 books, Cultural Emergence, People and Permaculture and 7 Ways to Think Differently.
People and Permaculture is the first book to directly translate the principles and design methods of permaculture from land to people. Looby enjoys using creative teaching methods to create a fun and collaborative learning environment.
Leona Johnson is a practicing Eco-therapist, host of Connection Matters Podcast and Director of Live Wild CIC a community based nature connection and village building organisation based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire.
Connection Matters Podcast explores evolutionary lifestyles, mindset, culture, healing and spirituality as well as many other issues relating to personal growth, community and nature connection.
Applewood Permaculture Centre is a 20 acre smallholding, in Herefordshire, UK. Looby and Chris are lucky to have had this as their family home with their 2 daughters as well as a training centre since July 2016. There are various teaching spaces, from heated yurt and barn space to outdoor marquee and open air. There are many diverse habitats here, woodland, orchard, forest gardens, pasture, pool and kitchen gardens. Applewood is a tranquil sanctuary for wildlife and people alike. We are blessed with night times filled with owl hoots and immense starry skies that you’ll get to enjoy round an outside fire.
