Course Description
Designing becomes more effective with practice. Deepen your applied understanding of design frameworks, tools and principles from Cultural Emergence & Permaculture with a focus on the Design Web. Discover your inner designer. Build momentum and activate a design for something in your life that you are passionate about.

This transformative learning adventure is for anyone who wants to bring more purpose and intention into their lives. Designed to boost anyone’s design practice, the course is also a golden key for anyone practicing post-PDC permaculture, doing a Diploma or teaching any subject.
There are 3 different online design adventures that you can do before the in person adventure, which will provide a solid foundation for you to build upon during this in person experience (they are not essential though).

What you will learn
Share in a fun, exciting and personal experience with like minded people. Adventuring between different nature classrooms at Applewood Permaculture Centre we will share in lively learning including interactive design activities. Hang out with Looby & Chris at meal times and around the fire in the evenings.

Arrivals on Friday from 3pm
We will finish at 5pm on Sunday
Food & Accommodation
Accommodation is ether camping or we have some indoor dormitory accommodation. We also have spare tents for people to borrow.
There will be a bring and share lunches on Saturday and Sunday. Breakfasts and dinners will be provided.They will be tasty vegetarian meals with vegan and gluten free options.

Facilitators & Venue
Looby Macnamara is co-developer of the Cultural Emergence toolkit with Jon Young. She is an experienced permaculture teacher, author and designer. She is author of 4 books, Cultural Emergence, People and Permaculture and 7 Ways to Think Differently.
People and Permaculture is the first book to directly translate the principles and design methods of permaculture from land to people. Looby enjoys using creative teaching methods to create a fun and collaborative learning environment.
Chris Evans
Chris lives at Applewood with his partner Looby and children Shanti and Teya. He has taught permaculture in the UK, Europe, Nepal, India, U.S.A. and Mexico. He is also a UK assessment level tutor for apprentices working towards their diploma in applied permaculture design with the Permaculture Association Britain.
The land and all of the beings here provide an ideal environment for connecting deeply with the more than human world. We will be blessed with spending summer days in the marquee in the orchard, and evenings around the campfire with stories, song and music accompanied by owl hoots. Nature is said to be the best teacher, and at Applewood we will be immersed in the more than human world, allowing for the learning to become a truly embodied experience.
